Kermit the Frog said it wasn’t easy being green, but at Stramit USA, we respectfully disagree. The world is eager for green buildings, ones that are cost effective, energy efficient, healthier for occupants, and that make the best possible use of our natural resources.

Stramit USA manufactures innovative, panelized building systems that combine traditional light gauge framing with its proprietary thermal insulator: Compressed Agricultural Fiber Board (CAFboardTM). Our carbon neutral products utilize rapidly renewable waste materials in conjunction with recycled steel to create sustainable building components. Welcome to Stramit USA, where we believe in doing more while using less.

What does Stramit produce?

Using an innovative, bio-engineered process, Stramit manufactures rigid, thermo-set boards with durability that exceeds that of wood and wood-composite boards or foam.

We begin with locally sourced wheat straw – agricultural waste – that’s grown and harvested not far from our Fort Worth, Texas, manufacturing plant. It’s a rapidly renewable material that’s often tilled back into the earth or burned, creating an undesirable carbon event. Instead, Stramit purchases and uses this straw, creating a new, secondary cash crop for wheat farmers, and manufacturing building components that are non-toxic, mold and pest resistant, energy efficient, highly sound absorbent, and nearly fireproof.

What can be built with Stramit materials?

Just about any building can be constructed with Stramit materials and systems: medical buildings, retail centers, neighbors’ homes, offices, restaurants, warehouses and local watering holes.

Our panels can be used for walls, flooring and door core, even furniture. Stramit leverages construction benefits by combining CAFboardTM with traditional light gauge steel framing from mostly recycled steel to produce a unique panelized building system. When compared to conventional methods, this system can reduce construction time for building shells to as little as 10 percent of traditional construction time and also produces zero landfill waste. Stramit CAFboard is a green building product that could be a reliable contributor to LEED point generation for construction projects.

Stramit USA makes these construction materials, panel systems, and other related components under highly controlled conditions in their Fort Worth factory then delivers them to jobsites on an as-needed basis.
